Roger

Roger is a small-town Colorado kid at heart, with an eclectic mix of interests and passions. He was raised on the Western Slope spending his days at his grandfather’s truck stop where he developed a deep appreciation for the beauty of the San Juan mountains and the community they surround. After moving east and completing grade school in Maryland, Roger attended Marietta College in Ohio where he took his first steps into a career in broadcasting, graduating with a degree in Organizational Communication.

Considering he was in a Broncos onesie days after birth, Roger didn’t have much of a choice in becoming a huge Colorado sports fan. His favorite sports memories include watching the Broncos and Avs each win three championships, while he was in-person at Ball Arena when the Nuggets won their first NBA Championship! Roger’s love of sports led him to pursue a career in sports broadcasting, where he spent nearly 15 years in Denver as a manager, producer, host, writer and play-by-play broadcaster at multiple radio stations.

Despite previously working in Denver, Roger has lived in Southern Colorado for over a dozen years, spending more time than he’d like to recount commuting up and down I-25. A shorter drive to the Cat Country 95.1 studios means he gets to spend more time with his family. Roger’s wife is a Kindergarten teacher in Colorado Springs District 11, while his daughter is likely chasing around their husky mix as you read this bio.

Roger and his family are mostly homebodies, which works out perfectly considering his love of movies and television. If there’s a new Star Wars or Batman movie coming out, you can bet Roger is wasting way too much time online reading into it. He and his wife enjoy watching dramas like Yellowstone, but also love reality competitions like The Challenge and Traitors. Roger’s daughter does manage to drag him out of the house occasionally, usually to John Venezia Park or to visit her grandparents on the Western Slope. Roger and his family have had a great time visiting Disneyland, and hope to one day visit Disney World and take a Disney cruise.

Roger brings his deep passion for Colorado, along with a warm and friendly personality to Colorado’s Cat Country 95.1 FM weekday evenings from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. He hopes, no matter how rough your day was, he can make your drive just a little bit better when you’re “Ridin’ Home with Roger.”
